SUPPLIES
On hand at Art Outfitters
the usual suspects
Paints, a pencil, paper, brushes, tape 1", glue, paper towels, scissors, scrap paper, water sprayer, water receptacle(s), and a ruler. (The tape, scissors and ruler are important!) Bring a small drawing board, cardboard, or clipboard to support your paper as you work. We will need a few hair dryers as well.
watercolor paints
Bring the paints you have but we will work with a variety of blues, greens, and reds. See below for optional paints.
brushes
Bring a variety of your favorite small and medium brushes – round brushes and a liner, for small details.
paper
Bring the paper you prefer or that you have. I will be using 140lb, 100% cotton watercolor paper, but will have some inexpensive nearby for testing things out and for the tags.
for the cards
We will work small and mount them onto 4x6 blank cards (you are welcome to work larger, 5x7" if you want, but I will bring blank cards for the smaller size). Be prepared to cut, tear, or tape off your paper so the finished size is 3.75” x 4.75.” I will bring my WorkLion cutter.
for the tags
We will use larger sheets for the tags. Bring a size that is easily subdivided. A 9x12” sheet of paper will make 24 2x2.25” tags. Your choice of watercolor paper.
pens
A waterproof black fine liner, and silver and gold pens. I like the Uniball Signo pens.
You’re going to want to use the Uniball pens for these projects.
OPTIONAL
to spice things up
metallic paints
A waterproof black fine liner. Fine Tec’s Gold, Silver, or Olympic Gold. If you want snow in your project, bring an opaque white. Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White works well for this project.
flair
Kim will bring a Christmas stamp or two and a waterproof ink pad to share. She will also bring a holiday dye punch or two.
Feel free to bring any stamps or punches you would like to use or share.
