Show and Sale Teacher's Workshop Scholarship 31 Day Challenge
Who: The Mid-Southern Watercolorists will award scholarships to two (2) elementary, middle, or high school art teachers in the United States and its territories who teach art in an accredited school.
What: The first scholarship will pay the tuition to a watercolor workshop of the winning teacher’s choice up to $350. The second scholarship will pay $150 towards a watercolor workshop of the teacher’s choice.
When: The application period commences July 1, 2020 (the beginning of National Watercolor Month), and ends August 31, 2020
Where: Applications are to be submitted to Mid-Southern Watercolorists at Communications@MidSouthernWatercolorists.com , putting “scholarship application” in the subject line.
Why: Mid-Southern Watercolorists is celebrating National Watercolor month by promoting the practice of watercolors through education.
To apply, an individual:
Who: Open to all members in good standing
What: Online Open Show that will showcase the talent of MSW members and promote the sale of their works. Each member may submit 2 original works that are for sale.
Where: Entrants will submit paintings and MSW Online Sale and Show to Communications @MidSouthernWatercolorists.com with the subject line “Show and Sale”. MSW will connect the buyer and artist’s by sharing their emails with eachother. The buyer and artist can then complete the sale.
When: Submissions will be accepted from June 8, 2020 until July 31, 2020. The show will remain on our website until October 31st, 2020.
Why: MSW will make a donation in honor of those in our first online show and sale to Dreaming Zebra who will help school aged children express their creativity by providing art supplies including watercolors.

Who: Open to all EVERYONE! Even if you have never painted, this challenge is for you.
What: An online and IRL (in real life) challenge to paint and get the creative juices flowing.
Where: Each day there will be a new prompt on MSW’s Facebook and Instagram page. All you have to do is tag your photo #MSWater and #WorldWatercolorMonth #DreamingZebra.
When: Starting July 1, 2020 ending July 31, 2020.
Why: MSW has teamed up with Doodlewash and World Watercolor Month to support skilled artists and novices alike.

“Doodlewash” started out as the personal journal of Charlie O’Shields. Now he invites others to join him on his watercolor journey.
He believes that watercolor sketching and painting is just plain fun and he thinks that everyone who feels the urge should give it a try, without worrying about rules or results. Whether you want to paint outdoors (in plein air), urban sketch, work from a photo at home (with a lovely glass of wine!), or just create something entirely from your own imagination, it’s all a doodle wash! Do it! And, have fun!
